I have never understood lip colours. Why the need to change your lip colour?
I have only started to appreciate lip colours when I grew older and started doing shoots. The correct make up, hair and wardrobe plays a big part in setting up a certain vibe and direction A correct lip colour completes the entire look and brings out different the personalities.
Switching up lip colours can really make a difference to your entire outfit. You can also somewhat guess one’s personality by the lip colour they always choose.
I have put together different outfits, hair and make up to bring out the different vibes that each colour could provide. Will talk about how I feel about the quality of these lip colours later on~
01 Nearly Nude
The nude is basically what I use on a daily basis, I like to keep it plain and simple.
02 Wild Pink
The colour that screams happy!
03 Siren Red
Red is always a symbol of sexiness and bold. A classic beauty~
04 Mystic Rose
The mystic rose as the name suggest gives off a mysterious vibe, a tinge of girly-ness and a tinge of seductive-ness. I never thought this would be a colour I would fall in love with but I did. I have been using this colour in most of my recent shoots.
05 Sassy Orange
I’m not sure about your views with this colour but to me it feels pretty eclectic mixed with a little madness, in a good way~
06 Exotic Wine
Actual colour is tad bit darker and slightly purple-lish. Poisoness colour but hell yeah!
Let’s now talk about the quality of the SilkyGirl Go Matte Lipcolor. It is a heavyweight colour but feels lightweight and with a matte finish. Formulated with Shea Butter, Saffflower Oil and Papaya extract. Sounds Yummy! Fragrance Free and not tested on animals. The colour stayed throughout and even after my usual photo shoots of 2-3hrs. I didn’t have to touch up in between. It does wear off a little but it stains the lip so I can’t really see a major colour slip even after a few hours. Colour pigment comes off easy, pigment stick is stury and does not break off easy. I have often encountered breaking the entire pigment stick off because I exerted too much force while applying. So far so good with the Silky Girl Go Matte Lipcolor.
For those who are not a huge fan of Matte colours and would like to have some shine on their Lips, SilkyGirl also has a range called the Colour Junkie Lip polish. A series with playful colours and a vinyl finish.
Though I’m not really into gloss but I tried the colours and have them placed side by side so you can see the series in a single picture.
I personally would opt for the Matte look, what about you? Matte or shine?
